Hi,
Thanks for the call this morning. I said I would put my concerns in writing so they do not get lost.
1. Branches run on tight rosters. Most metro branches have six to eight people and the regional ones have three or four. If I take two people out for a training session, the branch is short for the day. Where possible I would like training to happen at the branch or close to it, so people are not travelling. I do not have a view yet on whether that is practical, and I would like to find out.
2. Easter. We trade on the Saturday before Easter in a number of metro branches, and a lot of staff take leave across the long weekend and the school holidays. I have not got the leave numbers yet. I do not want a training window that lands on top of it.
3. Month end is the other pinch point. The last three working days of any month are our busiest for loan paperwork and account changes. Please keep training out of those days if you can.
4. Admin. My people spend a lot of time retyping customer details onto paper forms and then into Hamlink. If the new system takes even some of that away, the branches will be on side. I would like the training to show that early, not leave it to the end.
5. I am happy to nominate a branch manager from each state to help with planning. I will come back with names.
Let me know if it is easier to talk this through.
